How I Love Saturdays

BLESS OUR NEST

I truly love Saturday mornings.  The quite in the house.  Knowing the boys are snoozing and not having to jump up and rush off to school.  Wondering what the day will bring.  With our house, it changes minute to minute.  I have adapted to that over the years, but Leon still struggles.  However, he has come a long way from the early days!  One thing for sure, I am getting my hair cut today.  I am sooo overdue and my hair is so shaggy!

So, I did something at the Mad that I have not done in my three years of working there…….. I dropped my diet coke!  Yes, it ruined paper and made a terrible mess on the carpet.  What a goof I am!  And what made matters even worse, I did not have any more diet coke!  Woe is me……

I might scrap at the KC Library Admin today with the girls.  Not sure.  I might need a break from paper, ribbon……yea right.

So this is a picture of my album from Thursday night class at the Mad.  Fun group of ladies.

I love these little birdhouses!  Wish I had the new bird punch I ordered from Diane.  I would have added a cute bird sitting on the brown flower.

I dont think today it going to be as pretty and warm as yesterday but the birds outside are sure enjoying the morning.  If the wind would blow a little to sound my wind chimes…… life would be complete.

A New Journey

Doesnt that sound intriguing?  A new journey.  Curious?  What could it be?  A new family member?  A vacation somewhere exotic? A new relationship?  Well, for me this new journey is a weight loss journey.  Am I up for it?  I have to say yes even though I know I am weak.  So…….how to take this journey?  What should I pack?  What should I look forward to?  Ha……I am packing a whole bunch of extra weight.  I am looking forward to unpacking some of it.  And I am going to take it one day, one pound at a time.

I cant make this journey on my own of course.  So my wonderful sisters will be along.  Although we will be taking different paths, our destination is the same.  Sharon and Dianne will be doing the Alli diet.  I will be doing the “stop eating everything in site and get off my butt” diet.  We will compare notes in three months and re-evaluate our mode of transportation.

Today – my food:  Breakfast-Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 2%milk, two pieces of buttered toast.  Lunch:  popcorn.  Dinner: pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy.  Extra:  one very small bite of a brownie.  Liquids:  2 diet cokes, 4 glasses of water.  Food I refrained from: brownies, brownies and more brownies.  Bread at dinner.

My goal for tomorrow: smaller portions for dinner, more liquids, more exercising.

Baby Steps.

Card Satchel

I have been searching for a few days for a simple, cute card box to have the kids make in the Kid’s Club I am teaching in a couple of weeks.  I actually wanted something that looks like a little purse but this card satchel will work.  The directions I found are by Lynn Smith.  So the directions are really simple.  Score a 12×12 double sided sheet of heavy patterned paper at 2″, 2 1/2″, 9 1/2″ and 10″.  Rotate the paper and score at 3″, 3 1/2″, 8 1/2″, and 9″.  Cut all four corners from the 2 1/2″ score line to the 3 1/2″ score line to remove the corners.  Fold all the score lines.  Corner round where needed.

A New Day – A New Way

I need to get on board with my new philosophy of It’s A New Day.  By the way, I love that song and video – It’s A New Day by Will.I.Am.  It just seems to instill HOPE for everything.  Oops, I am off topic already.  So, to start this new day I am setting up a blog.  Not sure which direction it will go and man do I have a lot to learn about blogging.  It is certainly a new way of communicating for me.  My name, Snappychick, was given to me by my husband.  So for the purpose of this blog, he will be Mr. Rooster.  teehee.  I will have to let him know his new name.  Think he will like it?  I will keep you posted on that, or is it different terminology?  I will be bloggin’ ’bout that fo’ shore?  Whatever.  Today is a new day and for me, blogging is a new way.
